2018 Emily’s Kids “Gold Ribbon Scholarship” Recipient Jamara Ethridge -Duke Children’s Hospital-Diagnosed at age ten with a Pineoblastoma Brain Tumor. “Before the surgeons began my surgery, one of our family’s friends started a prayer circle. Everyone in the waiting room actually joined in on the prayer circle. When I got better, I went back to Duke in effort to provide emotional support and encouragement to other children just as a family had done for me.”
At the time of the scholarship application Jamara’s potential area of study was Nursing at Bennett college located in Greensboro, NC.
