Congratulations to Riley Schwalm. She is a 2019 recipient of a “Emily’s Kids Gold Ribbon Scholarship”. Riley was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia 12/06/2011 and is being treated at Missions Children’s Hospital located in Asheville, North Carolina. Riley will be attending the University of North Carolina at Asheville. Her potential area of study is Mass Communication with emphasis on Journalism. Riley stated “My cancer story is full of good and bad memories. Despite difficult times, it has put me on a path of optimism and opportunity”
