2018 Emily’s Kids “Gold Ribbon Scholarship” Recipient Colin Carberry -Duke Children’s Hospital-Diagnosed at age fourteen with Acute Myeloblastic Leukemia.. “Being diagnosed with cancer influenced me in so many ways, such as what I wanted to do with my life. Also, being sick in a hospital for this extended period helped me to realize that life is short. It is important to be happy, make the most of every moment, and do not take anything for granted.”
At the time of the scholarship application Colin’s potential area of study was History/Education at Campbell University.
